With a graduate degree in computer science and a European MBA, having studied in Germany, Great Britain and France, Markus Ludwig quickly began to apply himself to the topic of "Humans and Technology".

With a graduate degree in computer science and a European MBA, having studied in Germany, Great Britain and France, Markus Ludwig quickly began to apply himself to the topic of "Humans and Technology".

Having gained several years experience as a trainer for IT and software products, he and his partners established a training and consulting company in Fulda. The consulting firm quickly grew to over 100 employees distributed over 12 locations.

At the end of 2004, they were invited to purchase the German business activities of RWD Technologies, a company based in Baltimore, USA. Markus Ludwig accepted this exciting challenge and immediately led the company to achieve enormous growth with increased employee numbers, increased sales and increased profits. He was responsible also for raising the profile of the RWD company internationally. He opened locations in Switzerland, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

In the course of a management buyout towards the end of 2010, he founded ELS GmbH and took over the business activities of RWD Technologien Deutschland GmbH. At the end of March 2011, ELS GmbH became an AG. Since then, Markus Ludwig has been the Chief Executive Officer of ELS AG.
